The My Generation Guide To UK Record labels 1962-1974

Here is what I hope will become the definitive resource on the net for collectors and dealers in UK produced vinyl albums during probably the best era for pop music there has been.

I'm sure there will always be labels or information about labels that needs changing or adding so if you have any further information please email me at my.generation@zetnet.co.uk

The EMI Label

In 1972 EMI moved most of its mainstream acts to it's own newly created label. The Harvest label continued until the end of the seventies but Parlophone, Columbia and HMV acts all moved here.

One of the most successful discoveries signed to EMI were Queen who released their first LP in 1973. Other acts included the evergreen Cliff Richard and the label scored two number one singles with Don Estelle and Windsor Davies, and The Wurzels respectively.
