The My Generation Guide To UK Record labels 1962-1974

Here is what I hope will become the definitive resource on the net for collectors and dealers in UK produced vinyl albums during probably the best era for pop music there has been.

I'm sure there will always be labels or information about labels that needs changing or adding so if you have any further information please email me at my.generation@zetnet.co.uk

The Marmalade Record Label

A small label started by The Yardbirds producer Giorgio Gomelski. It featured an eclectic range of acts from the highly collectable Blossom Toes to the pairing of The Brian Auger Trinity with Julie Driscoll which provided the label's only hit single This Wheels On Fire. Another notable release was an album called Bitterness Of Death by Ottilie Patterson, who made her name in the fifties as a highly regarded jazz singer. This album though fused her literary inspiration - Shakespeare's sonnets and ancient Latin poetry - to music.

Major artists - Julie Driscoll, Blossom Toes, John McLaughlin
